Terms of service

Last updated October 30, 2026

These terms apply to anyone who uses this site, whether you're signing up to bring food or organizing an event. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What this site is

A free tool for coordinating who brings what to group meals. It is run by an individual (“the site owner,” “we”) as a volunteer project, not as a business. We may change, pause or shut down the site, or any feature of it, at any time without notice.

Food, allergies and safety

We don't prepare, inspect or serve any food, and we don't check what people bring. Food is provided by event participants, and each event is run by its organizer, not by us.

Dietary labels (such as gluten-free or dairy-free), allergy alerts and notes are entered by organizers and participants. They may be wrong or incomplete. The site can't guarantee that any dish is free of an allergen. If you or someone you care for has an allergy or dietary need, check with the person who made the food before eating it. You are responsible for what you choose to eat, and for preparing and handling food you bring safely.

Organizers

If you create an event, you are responsible for it: its content, who you share it with, and the people you make owners or admins. You can archive it at any time, which closes its link until you reopen it. You may have up to 20 open events.

Assignments

Organizers and their admins can assign an item to someone by name (and, optionally, their Google email). An assignment is a request, not a commitment: it shows on the event page as waiting until that person accepts it. They can accept it, change the details, or turn it down. Until it is accepted, anyone else can claim the item and bring it instead. Once you accept or claim an item, please bring it, or remove your sign-up in good time so someone else can.

If you assign items, only assign people who have agreed to be asked, and only enter an email address you have their permission to use. Don't accept or turn down an assignment made for someone else.

Acceptable use

Please don't use the site to:

  • post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that invades someone's privacy;
  • pretend to be someone else, sign other people up or assign them items without their permission, or accept or turn down an assignment meant for someone else;
  • send spam, run a business, or collect money or payments;
  • try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of the site.

We may remove any content or event, or block anyone, for any reason, including breaking these terms, without notice.

Your content

You are responsible for what you enter. By entering it, you let us store and display it as needed to run the site (for example, showing your name and dish on the event page). We don't claim ownership of it.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't promise that it will be available, accurate, secure or free of errors, or that sign-ups won't be lost. Changes show on the page right away and are saved in the background; if a save fails, the change is undone and you'll be asked to try again. Keep your own copy of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the site owner is not liable for any harm, loss or damages of any kind that come from using or not being able to use the site. This includes illness, allergic reactions or injury from food; missed, lost or wrong sign-ups or assignments; anything other users or organizers do or post; and any indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Because the site is free, if we are ever found liable anyway, our total liability is limited to $0, or the smallest amount the law permits.

Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the site owner harmless from any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) that come from your use of the site, the food you bring or serve, the events you organize, the content you enter, or your breaking these terms.

Third-party services

The site relies on Google (sign-in), Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database). Your use of those services is covered by their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
